"Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord," (Baptist Faith and Message).
Ephesians 2:8-9, "By grace you have been saved through faith..."
Section 1 – God
We believe in one Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Luke 3:21-22; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14)
Section 2 – Jesus Christ
We believe in the Virgin Birth and the Deity of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who is also Son of Man, with two distinct natures in one Person forever. We believe the vicarious substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross, made atonement for the sin of the world, efficient for all who repent and believe. We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, which ensures the resurrection of all believers who have received God’s gift of eternal life. We believe in the imminent, visible and bodily return of Christ to this earth to set up His kingdom and to judge the world in righteousness. (Luke 1:35; John 1:1,14; Romans 3:22-24; Romans 5:1-8; I Corinthians 15:51-54; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Timothy 3:16; Revelation 1:7; 19:11-16)
Section 3 – Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit, Third Person of the Trinity, convicts the World of sin, righteousness and judgment; is responsible for the quickening from death into life and for the continuing of the work of sanctification in the believer. He indwells all who receive Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord; baptizes all true believers into the body of Christ, the Church, sealing and securing them unto the day of redemption; that He guides, teaches and helps believers through the Scriptures; and that it is the privilege and duty of all believers to be filled, daily, with the Holy Spirit. (John 3:5; 14:16,17; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18; Romans 8:9; John 16:7-11; I Corinthians 12:13)
Section 4 – Scripture
We believe that the sixty-six books of Holy Scripture, contained in the Old and New Testaments, as originally given, are, in their entirety, the Word of God verbally inspired, plenary and all that they declare, and wholly without error, and, therefore, are the supreme and final authority of faith and life. The Scriptures take precedent over any Confessions, Catechisms and any other document of man’s interpretation. (I Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:20,21)
Section 5 – Creation
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, including all life, each after its own kind, by a direct act of His will and not by any process of evolution. (Genesis 1 & 2; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16,17)
Section 6 – Man
We believe that man, having been created pure and in the image of God is, by his own sin, fallen from grace and that in consequence, all have sinned and are guilty, lost and absolutely incapable of saving themselves by their own works, being dead in trespasses and sin. We believe that we are saved solely by God’s grace, through faith alone, in Christ’s perfect life of obedience, death, burial, resurrection and ascension. (Genesis 2 & 3; John 3:16; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1,8,9; Ephesians 5:12; I John 5:11-13)
Section 7 – Salvation & Eternal Security
We believe that all true believers, once saved, are sealed and kept secure in Christ forever. We reject the teaching that once saved, one can lose their salvation. We firmly believe that salvation is wholly by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone – His perfect life of obedience, death, burial, resurrection and ascension. No ceremony i.e. baptism, the Lord’s Supper, nor any other work of man has the power to save a man from their sin. (John 3:3-7; 10:28; Ephesians 4:30; Romans 3:23, 24; Romans 5; Romans 6:23; 8:35-39; Ephesians 2:8,9; Acts 4:12)
Section 8 – Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the lost to judgment and everlasting punishment. (Isaiah 33:14; Matthew 25:46; John 5:28,29; I Corinthians 15:21-24)
